If you love the outdoors and the idea of capturing what you see and experiencing it in a unique way then plein air sketch booking is a fantastic skill to add to your creative tool kit. As a practice, it can help build great skills.

We can use a variety of materials and experiment without consequence. 

Fi uses her sketchbook to record her  travels, for drawing practice, colour palette collecting and general journalling. It is a source of calm and quiet meditation. It also aids her studio work.

It seems simple but for many who try it, it can often be a little intimidating and  sometimes overwhelming ...so this session is about getting our approach right and covering the typical pitfalls that might be experienced.  How we do it - where and why we do it.

Fi will share all the things that she has learnt  so far about this activity and save you time and frustration with some really sound and practical advice. It doesnt matter where you are starting from - no judgement or expectations. After an introductory session in the studio, covering materials, demonstrations, approach and logistics we can then make a visit to a local spot to trial our process on site.

Fi will give you advice about what to purchase so you dont need to bring anything except an A5 or smaller, white page, good quality paper, blank sketchbook. - Nothing fancy just something to get you started.
