Tony Windberg is an Australian artist who is passionate about making landscape art. For 3 decades, his artistic curiosity has driven his exploration of materials and techniques. This workshop will lead see you trying a unique approach of layering conventional paint over natural materials with transformative results.

In this fun, hands on workshop, you’ll learn the art of preparing ash, earth pigments and binders as the basis for a unique approach to painting! You begin by wiping and scraping into this earth paint to form the tree, then switch to oil paints using glazing and dry-brushing techniques. The results are transformative! Layering conventional paints over natural materials results in a highly effective interplay of texture and colour, and an exquisitely symbolic way of connecting materials to the subject.

Cost: $110 (includes canvas, earth pigments, acrylic binders, gesso and reference image) Please bring your oil paints, mediums, brushes and palette.
